I decided engineering because I needed to decide and had already passed calc 1-4 and physics 1 and 2 which I've been told are the hardest classes. For me they have been the easiest. My first semester in the major I got behind and ended up dropping all of my courses. I retook 3 of the classes got an A in chem, a C in statics, and I failed my My college has an entry to a major all freshman engineering students have to go through to be placed into their actual major. I just got my AP Calc AB score back from this year, a 1. On the ACT my math score was a 25. On the SAT my math section score was a 620. If you have mathematical anxiety, it might be a good idea to attend extension school, or one of the online courses While there is math here (multiplying a number by the number of days in a year), as a programmer you don’t even need to be able to do that multiplication yourself; you just need to tell the computer what task to complete. Much of software development follows this flow: figure out a path for the program to take to accomplish a specific task. Most engineers are not math geniuses just good at practicing, leave the math genius to the math majors. Thanks for taking the time to reply, helps a ton.
